Otherwise entitled, "A Little Somethin', I Hardly Knew Thee".
So I was cruising along in the SCS galleries, when I came across this card by Deb Kemp. I love the simple design, so when I saw today's Clean and Simple Challenge, I knew almost exactly what I wanted to do. At first, I pulled out a Regal Rose polka dot print from the Sweet Always Designer Series Paper, but I decided that was too dark. I looked at the Pink Pirouette print from that pack, but that just didn't work, either. Finally I concluded that regular Pink Pirouette card stock would work just fine. As I debated over which stamps to use, I looked through my box of almost-retired stamps and pulled out "A Little Somethin'". To my horror, I hadn't even mounted it yet! How could this be? I loved this set from the moment I saw it, and was so excited to have earned it, and yet I hadn't used it in over five months??? Yeah, well... not so surprising if you know me well. ;) I'm sure there have been a dozen times that I've thought about using it, but it just wasn't quite right for the card I wanted to make.
But it was perfect for this card. Using it brought me away from the layout Deb Kamp used, but I figured I could make it work. Speaking of things rarely or never used... I had to reink my Perfect Plum ink pad with about 1/2 a bottle of refill, I opened my Pretty in Pink striped ribbon to be able to use it, and my Perfect Plum card stock is probably still the first pack I ever bought. Six years ago. *eek!!!*
Anyway, here is...
